Zoe gets braces…

India got them last summer, this summer it’s Zoe’s turn.  She’s not liking them much at the moment, but she’ll get used to them.  A wire broke about 20 minutes after we got home and she was headed back for a repair…  It’s going to be a long 2 years with this one.  India hasn’t broken anything yet and she’s had them for a full year now!  So, we’ll see!  It’s gonna be interesting to see the change occur.  I think she’s excited about that part, but not at all about the maintenance.  Can’t blame her there!

Summer blog.

My girls have started a summer blog.  They plan to document the entire summer and all the summers after this and then do a blog to book or something of the sort.  If you are interested and would like to take a peek at what they’ve come up with and just what they have planned for this summer click on this link….. 2012 Summer of Fun.  Zoe is pretty adamant that constant updates will be made, but we’ll see how gung ho she is mid summer.  It’s cute and it’s their creation, so enjoy.

The Doors in the French Quarter.

While we were in New Orleans in April, I became somewhat fascinated by doors.  Not the band.  Front doors.  Yes, you heard that right… the front doors into people’s homes.  The French Quarter is beautiful in its own right.  The architecture and the look and feel, it’s really something to see.  It’s hard to capture ALL of it.  I’m not sure it’s possible, there’s just too much personality and flavor that can never really be captured as much as felt.  So I took with me what I could… pictures of doors.

Soccer, Soccer, Soccer!!!

Little Zoe took a season off, but has returned to soccer this month.  We are as busy as can be, but enjoying it.  She is finally with a new League, AYSO and we’re enjoying the organization and changes that have come with this new commitment.  Her first game was Saturday and the girls won 3 -0.  I’m not sure they have chosen a name for the team yet… so here’s to a good season with Team No-Name.  I’ve attached the schedule for family and friends that would like to come and watch!  snack schedule

Happy Birthday Don!

September 20, 2008, the world lost a pretty amazing man.  Every year, I ignore and avoid that date.  I just don’t feel like I can acknowledge it just yet.    Don was so much more than that, so instead I try to enjoy his birthday every.single.year.  Most of the time, it’s just lunch with a group of people who miss Don just as much as I do.  This year, we are throwing a little birthday party.  Just a little celebration and reminder of who he was and the memory he’s left behind.

So Happy Birthday, Mr. Denny!  You are loved and missed by many and you will never be forgotten.

The Color Run 2012

Yep.  It’s that time again.  Time for another race, but this one is different.  It’s called The Color Run and as it’s name states it’s colorful and crazy and there is no need to win or run as fast as you can.  It’s just about reaching the finish line with a cool group of people and getting as much color thrown at you as possible (goto the link and watch the video, it’s crazy.) I’m forcing my whole family to come.  Some friends and I have started a team- A Dash of Color, so if you are interested in joining us, follow the link and sign up.  We have people walking, running and even will have 4 kids so far coming along for the fun.  The race is for everyone and anyone, let me know if you plan to sign up.  I would like to set up a meeting spot and time so we can start the race together!

Welcome Baby Jones!

Congratulations to our wonderful friends, Abby and Mike on the birth of their beautiful daughter, Erin Marie Jones – 8lbs 8oz, 20 inches.  She was born at 8:55am today, exactly when she was due!  Right on time, just like her parents.  We are so happy for you and can’t wait to spend more time spoiling her rotten!!!!!

Zoe’s 11th Birthday Party

Zoe’s party was similar to India’s, only she isn’t quite as girlie.  It was all blues and yellows with mustaches and hats.  She actually mentioned that if even an ounce of pink was present, she would have to hurt me.  It was another sleep over, but this time we only had 8 girls.  It was the perfect amount.  They all had fun, we played some games and of course took tons of pictures… because that’s how I roll, yo.

Also, I wanted to give a big, gigantic, thank you to my friend Krista who made all the invites, the banner and thank you notes for both parties.  They were perfect and cute and the girls loved them.  You are amazing!   Make sure to take a peek of her site Paper Jewels Designs.  She is creative and one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet.

Zoe- age 11

My little one is 11 today.  11.  It’s crazy to think that this insanely smart, funny as all hell, and the sweetest most kind hearted, little girl has been in my life for 11 years.  We are so very lucky!  Happy Birthday little Zoe!  We love you more than you’ll ever know.
