Oh yes I am!!!! Of course, I plan on taking my girls and the husband along with me. Because what’s the point in running away from those three. I would be bored out of my mind. We are heading to Northern California for 10 or so days before the girls start school again in August. I Can’t wait!! We are hitting Monterey, Carmel, Sausalito, Napa and then ending the trip in Lake Tahoe with Tony’s sister and her family. I can’t think of a better trip or a better way to end the trip! I’m so very very very very excited. Can you tell?
Picky Schmicky.
I am a huge fan of Sushi. I think I have mentioned this once or twice before, maybe. When I was younger, I hardly liked anything. 10 years ago, you wouldn’t have caught me ever, I mean ever, even looking in the direction of sushi. I was ridiculously picky and refused most foods without even trying them, based purely on their looks alone. I didn’t even have ketchup until in my 20’s (Michelle can vouch for this one.) Maybe it’s my age, I don’t know, but now I try everything. Everything. (That’s probably why I haven’t lost the weight I still need to lose.) That doesn’t mean I like it all, but I at least give it a shot before turning it away. I bring all this up because my girls are at that stage of turning foods away without trying anything. A big rule in our home is that you HAVE to try, HAVE to. Even if it’s just a small try, but you can’t just say you don’t like it without making an attempt. Zoe will normally try anything with a little pushing, but India is a stubborn bug and I practically have to force feed her!!! Most of the time, she likes it once she’s tried it. I know the stuff they like and dislike and I’m not going to beg them to try something I know for sure that they will hate. I know that most kids are picky eaters and mine really aren’t that picky, but there’s gotta be a way to add more and different kinds of foods into their diets without such a battle… any ideas?
WTF
It’s been a busy couple of weeks and once again I’m behind on everything. I owe some people call backs and e-mails and my house looks like a bomb went off. I’m so very tired and very annoyed with everything right now. I was out of town for work, but am back and playing catch up. I did manage to fit in some random pictures the past week or so. So here ya go…. Hey, right now, it’s all I’v e got!
The above are all from California while I was working and the rest are random shots from 4th of July at our friends house. (yes, that is me jumping on the bed at the hotel. I know it’s seriously dorky, but it made me laugh so I had to post it!!!!!)
I can’t even get my pictures centered. I’m very annoyed with this, but I’m tired and going to bed. I’ll try to deal with it tomorrow. I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Far and Away
Well, not really that far away. I’m out of town for work. By myself. Without my family. I know that some people would enjoy this little bit of time away. Not me. I prefer to be with my family. Not only am I away from my family, but I am here alone, without a co-worker or friend or anyone… it sucks. I’m bored and miss Tony and the girls. I’ve talked to them and they are fine, but I wish they were either with me or I was with them. That’s the way it’s supposed to be. I know, I’m pathetic. Anyway, I will be home in a couple of days, so it’s not that big of deal, just a bit outside of my comfort zone.
TV will fry your brain…
I have many obsessions, but besides reading and photography, I get completely and totally wrapped up in my favorite television shows. It’s pretty sad, I try hard to keep the kids away from it, but as soon as they are sleeping… I am CRAZY OBSESSED with my wonderful TIVO. Anyway back to the point… I have watched Weeds on Showtime since season 1 and have loved it from the get go. It’s now onto season 4 and so far so good. So here is a little (actually somewhat long) video of what’s to come this season. So, for those who haven’t seen the show, you should give it a shot. It’s not for kids, so put them to bed before you watch. It’s really good and entertaining and funny and one of my absolute favorite. I just thought I would share.
Bishop Swim Meet
We spent this past weekend in Bishop, California to watch the nieces compete in a swim meet. We had a BLAST and as always, love spending time with Tony’s sister and her family. The girl’s are getting so big and old and growing way too fast, so any extra time we get with them is a huge bonus. India and Zoe had a wonderful time and were begging to stay longer. We’re planning a trip to Tahoe again in August and can’t wait.
Take a step back.
I have a serious space issue. I have noticed more so recently and the older I get, the worse I get. As soon as someone is too close to me, my entire body tenses up. I don’t like random people touching me. Family and friends, that’s one thing, but anyone else… take a step back. I hate when I’m in line somewhere and I can feel the person’s breath behind me on my neck or hair…. too close. Way too close and completely unnecessary. Arms length is okay, but two arms, now were talking. It’s not just when they are close to me either, it’s my family also. When they invade my space or I feel they are invading my family’s space I get all panicky. Even just talking about it now, I get all annoyed and jittery. I think I’m just crazy. I wonder what I will be like when I am actually old. Is this just the beginning of the end? They, whomever they is, say that as you get older your neuroses get worse… I’m in trouble if that’s true.
The new boy in the family…
Today we visited my new nephew, Tommy. Tomorrow, he will be exactly 2 weeks old. He is adorable and perfect and cute and sweet and itsy bitsy… You get the point. We are very happy to have him around!
Sorry that I have been MIA this last week. I was sick the end of the week through the weekend and just wasn’t up to sitting in front of the computer. I hope everyone had a good weekend and a WONDERFUL Father’s Day!!!!
Spelling Bees Gone Bad
Funny stuff I tell ya!
So I feel kind of bad about this one, but the kid bounces back… otherwise, it wouldn’t be very funny.
My husband sent me both of these links and I just had to share.
